Leah Alexander, M.D., F.A.A.P.

Dr, Alexander grew up in Detroit, Michigan, and developed a love of science during her early childhood years.

She received a Bachelor’s of Arts degree in Health Sciences from Kalamazoo College, followed by her medical doctor degree at Michigan State University College of Human Medicine.

She then relocated to the east coast for her pediatric residency training at Atlantic Health System of Summit and Morristown, New Jersey. Her General Pediatrics career began in private practice at Elizabeth Pediatric Group.

After five years, she transitioned to her current position at Pediatricare Associates of Fair Lawn, New Jersey. To complement her clinical work, Dr. Alexander has engaged in medical writing and editing over the past four years. This has allowed her to share medical knowledge with patients and parents as well as a wider audience.

In addition to her medical career pursuits, Dr. Alexander enjoys learning about other cultures and cuisines. A study abroad in Clermont-Ferrand, France during her undergraduate years fostered an interest in international travel. This led to excursions to Australia and countries throughout Europe Asia, Africa, and South America. She further explored her interest in the culinary arts at the French Culinary Institute, just prior to her current pediatric position. Upon completion, she created Global Palate, a catering business which specialized in international cuisines. Since its closure, cooking continues to be one of her passions, along with an interest in music, film, and fine art.
